Children's Services

At Fraser Valley Dental Specialists in Abbotsford, we provide a complete range of dental services for children to meet their oral health needs. We strive to make each visit fun, educational, and positive.

What is a pediatric dentist?

A pediatric dentist is a dentist with an additional three years of specialist training in dentistry for children.

The training includes specialized care for children’s teeth and ways to encourage a happy, positive experience for your child when going to the dentist.

Dental Health Care Starts Early!

The Canadian Dental Association recommends the assessment of infants by a dentist, within 6 months of when their first tooth surfaces, or by one year of age.

Thereafter, children should visit the dentist every six months for a check-up and cleaning, just like adults.

We're here to help your children achieve optimum oral health. We focus on improving your child’s oral health, in addition to educating them at a young age on how to maintain a healthy smile.

  • Dental injuries (e.g. fractured, displaced, or knocked-out teeth)
  • Malocclusion (improper bite) and bruxism (grinding)

We make it easy and fun to go to the dentist!

To help kids feel comfortable about the dentist, we offer a special "kid’s tour" which introduces your child to the office and the dental team. This fun tour includes an opportunity to enjoy a "chair ride", to meet the "tooth explorer", and to play with the popular water squirt, all while making friends with our team of dental professionals.

The objective of our popular "kid’s tour" is to make our young patients feel comfortable and relaxed when it comes time for a dental exam or procedure.

You can expect a comfortable dental space that is warm and welcoming to children of all ages. We also offer a child's play area and other fun amenities to ensure your child's dental visit is always fun and positive.

Our pediatric dentist is an excellent resource for any questions you may have about your child's dental health. This combined with our incredible support staff creates an environment that is designed for your entire family.
